Dickey Upcycle
If you have a favorite blouse or button-up that is perhaps too snug, I can repurpose it into a dickey! It really pops with shirts that have some sort of high neck, ruffle or detail at the neck or down the placket. Sometimes blouses like that can be a little intense and hard to style, so making them into a dickey makes them a bit more casual and easy to layer over a camisole, bandeau, or leotard ā or under a blazer. This upcycle works best on wovens or stable knits (not so much sweaters or stretchy knits). Iād split the side seams, remove the sleeves, and add either store-bought or handmade ties. *Email me about attempting this upsizing method of adding side ties to a tank dress, or getting avant garde with a blazer or jacket.
tank tops
short sleeve shirts
long sleeve shirts
button-ups
blouses
stable knit tops (mocknecks, turtlenecks, etc.)
*possibly a tank dress or jacket/blazer
2 week turnaround
