Return Shipping Fee

$10.00

This is a listing for flat-rate return shipping for non-Portlanders who are mailing in their rework orders. This is the boring mandatory shipping fee that I simply must charge so I can return your gorgeous reworks back into your loving arms.

This is a new project for me and I started with a local drop-off & pick-up model. But I want to explore a mail-in model so all folks in the U.S. can get in on the fun! This will be in the pilot stage for awhile, as I figure out what works. Shipping prices rise all the time, so I’m going to experiment with doing a $10 flat-rate for now. No rush orders or international orders at this time. Here are the steps…

1) Either before or after you place your rework order from the “menu" that you email me or contact me via the website and I’ll give you the address to ship your items to and confirm the best address for me to return the reworked items to. It also helps if you let me know your expectations for the reworks, so I can make you fabulously happy. In this email, you can also provide any measurements or color/fabric details I might need.

2) You will mail your items to me (you will be paying for the shipping). USPS first class is probably cheapest for packages under one pound. UPS ground or USPS priority mail will probably be the best option for packages over one pound. USPS flat-rate is usually best for multiple/heavy items or if you don’t have a box. You might want to add insurance to make sure you’re covered in case the mail carriers are absolute beasts who misplace your package. (Personally, I don’t trust mailboxes, so I would either request a pick-up from usps.com or drop it by a post office or UPS store.)

3) I’ll rework your items in the agreed upon ways. I’ll reach out to you with any questions. The turnaround will probably be a week, but could be 2 weeks if I have a lot on.

4) With the money provided by this very listing, I’ll ship your items back to you!

THE FINE PRINT: I’ll add insurance to every order, but of course I can’t be responsible if packages are lost or stolen. Life is chaos and I will do my very best to prevent that. I will file an insurance claim, and provide store credit or half of the refunded insurance amount (to cover my labor). To be on the safe side, if a garment is invaluable to you and you’d be despondent if it were lost, don’t send it. I have online video tutorials you can follow along to refresh your garment or you can reach out to a local tailor or seamstress to make a similar tweak to the ones listed on my Menu.
